PROTON Satria Neo

Last week, PROTON launched a new car, the forever late PROTON models... The PROTON Satria Neo. Its a 2 door hatchback which was supposed to be the hot vehicle for the young guns and young at heart...

Saw the car. Impressive design. Somehow they get better and better in design. But of course, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and its a matter of taste and opinions are like assholes; everyone have one. So we have lots of differing views on how the car looks and yadda yadda, everyone just became Jeremy Clarkson and belting out thingamajig and whatchamacallit, and its like better than yours crap. So there we go folks, for every PROTON model that comes out it will be showered with loads of negative notes... Of course, there are two sides of a coin, and a butt with two cheeks... PROTON has themselves to blame for all these bad publicities. Power window la, funny design, copycat design, and whatever la, I think these folks at R&D should not only do Replicate & Distribute.. Hahaha... Okay la. No laughing matter as I think those bois at R&D did a very good job in improving the car over Gen2 and Waja. The Waja was the first ever car produced by PROTON that is totally Malaysian in design and "having" input from somewhere and somewhere la... The Waja design is pretty good. It has the big car look and it does offer premium space at a cheaper price. The design is not revolutionary or groundbreaking, but rather, a conservative look that shows European influence. The wedge shape looks very Audi-ish and folks, it has quite a flabby sides... Not only that, its heavy. Ergonomics is not what PROTON excel at the moment. Looking at the comments from most folks, PROTON still need to improve in this area. But looking at the Neo and the Waja, the design of the dashboard has improved and overall ergonomics for the drivers and passengers are good. For the first time, Neo actually has a dampen glovebox that are pretty premium to most folks. At this price, I dont think there are any other cars that offers such items. Only letdown is the glovebox space....

Anyway, no need to comment on the ride and handlign lah... That is PROTON's forte and havign tested their cars, I can vouch they are very good in handling and also ride. Again, at this price range, you just cant find any cars that can match PROTON cars in term of ride and handling. Some of the tricks from the Colt was carried over to the Neo.. Go chekc other forums to see. Lazy to write more la... Somemore the car comes with Continental Sport Contact 1. Which is sports premium rubber. Now available in Malaysia as locally made tyres. But what suprised me is the size... 195/50R16.. What are they high on when they thought of this.. Niama, so odd one the size??? But good donuts... Should be very grippy and provide good traction on almost most surface of the road....

ARGHHHH.... Inside got semi bucket seat one woh.. Cool eh??? No need to swap seats liao.. Can save money. One thing I like is, the stock Blaupunkt head unit. Comes with a frame. Dont know when aftermarket HU frame is available. Iam an ICE person, so this is very important to me hahahahah.....

BTW, funnies

1) The rear headroom for the Satria is poor
2) Why dont they create a 4 dr Satria
3) Tall people would have trouble getting in
4) The rear seat space is small

Its a frigging small car, not a fuckin MPV you dipshits!
